Magnon promotes youth dialogue on decarbonization and energy independence at the Voices for the Planet event

On the occasion of the International Energy Saving Day, Magnon, Spain’s leading company in renewable energy generation from agricultural and forestry biomass, held the collaborative event Voices for the Planet to reaffirm its commitment to an energy model based on decarbonization and energy independence.

As the country’s largest biomass manager and a benchmark in renewable energy, the company transforms agricultural and forestry residues into clean energy. This activity promotes rural employment, contributes to fire prevention, supports the stability of the power system, and creates value through circular economy principles.

Magnon also develops renewable industrial heat solutions to help decarbonize industry and promotes the production of sustainable fuels derived from the biogenic CO₂ generated at its renewable energy complexes.

Energy of the Future

Magnon’s long-standing commitment to a sustainable society was the focus of discussion at the Voices for the Planet event, where secondary school students became journalists for a day, using their questions to explore the company’s energy model.

Armed with questions prepared in their classrooms, the students engaged with company representatives through the media, raising key issues related to decarbonization, energy transition, technological innovation, and the future of renewable energy.

“Every question asked today is a form of energy saving—because awareness is the cleanest energy there is. There can be no energy transition without social participation, and there is no energy more powerful than that of a generation brave enough to ask questions,” said José Antonio Agüera, Director of Magnon’s Renewable Energy Complex in Huelva.

The event is part of Magnon’s strategic effort to bring its strong commitment to decarbonization and energy independence closer to society. The company transforms around two million tons of agroforestry biomass into renewable energy every year, helping to avoid emissions, prevent forest fires, and create rural employment.

On this International Energy Saving Day, Magnon reminds us that saving energy also means making better use of existing resources, embracing clean technologies, and advancing renewable fuels that will help shape a more sustainable tomorrow.
