Magnon, a subsidiary of Ence and a leader in renewable energy produced with biomass, has achieved PEFC Chain of Custody certification in its biomass management business. This seal confirms that it complies with PEFC sustainability and traceability requirements, whether the forests are sustainably managed or from a PEFC chain of custody.

The certificate, issued by SGS Global Services and valid from April 2025 to April 2030, applies to the export of wood and biomass, including the activities of purchasing from third parties, logging by own or subcontracted means, the conditioning of the material in the forest, storage in port prior to export and distribution, and sale to the customer by the physical separation method.

When selling PEFC-certified biomass, Magnon provides customers with accurate and verifiable information on the certified material content of the biomass supplied, and communicates relevant information on its origin and the PEFC material declaration of the biomass sold.

The company also responds to environmental requirements by complying with the legislation applicable to the organization’s activity, in addition to which it does not market forest and tree material from controversial sources, while complying with the Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and its Conventions of the ILO Declaration.

In this way, Magnon makes its commitment to sustainability and chain-of-custody certification visible in the company’s various corporate policies, such as the Sustainability Policy, the Management Policy and the Purchasing Policy, in line with the strategy of Ence, the group to which it belongs.
